Hardware
Use a phone. Use compatible GPS hardware. Use your existing GPS system.
Three ways to put a vehicle on the map. None of them is a capital request, and you can mix them across one fleet.
Three ways in
A phone
Our Miles Tracker app on a phone that rides in the vehicle. One QR code sets it up in about two minutes; we do that with you during onboarding. On a driver's own phone it reports only while their shift is open, shows them whether it is on, and goes home untracked.
Compatible GPS hardware
A small tracker we supply, configure and connect — wired to power, ground and ignition sense by you or your mechanic, or plugged into the diagnostic port. Loaned free on transit and shuttle plans; a unit that fails is replaced free, and one that is lost or comes back damaged beyond fair wear is billed at $149.
Your existing GPS
If you already publish a GTFS-Realtime feed, we relay it today and nothing needs installing. For a telematics system we have not connected before, the first customer on it pays $1,500 once and later customers pay nothing — today that is every one of them: the only connector built so far is the GTFS-Realtime reader.
What we do with the hardware
- Configure it before it ships, so it reports to us and nowhere else.
- Supply the connectivity: the SIM and the data plan are ours to manage on a loaned unit.
- Walk the first installation through on a call; the rest follow the same three wires.
- Replace a unit that fails, at no charge, for as long as you are a customer.
- Never sell the positions it produces, to anyone, for anything.
What we will not do
Read the engine
Ignition sense tells the tracker the vehicle is running; it cannot affect the engine and we read nothing else from the vehicle.
Watch the driver
No cameras, no cabin audio, no behaviour events. Positions of a vehicle, and only that.
Lock you in
A loaned tracker goes back in the box we send. Your data leaves with you — history on request, GTFS files in a zip.
What it costs
On transit and shuttle plans the hardware is loaned free inside the monthly price. On other plans a tracker is sold outright. Both are on the pricing page; connectivity outside a loan is quoted with your plan.
Two ways to start
Fleets, deliveries, taxis, field teams
Phones you already own, the GPS you already run, or compatible hardware. A person sets you up this week; the map is yours the same day.
